Every one is feeling lazy in our house today. Even the hound.
It’s the perfect cold and windy day to kick back, put your feet up and watch a couple of movies. That is exactly what we plan to do with the rest of our day.
Santa was good to Roxy again this year. This Snoop Dogg Mic has been her favorite gift so far.
Roxy and her family want to wish all that celebrate it a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
I just baked a batch of oatmeal cookies and Roxy has not left the kitchen since I started. First she was staring at the counter then the oven now she is just laying on the floor praying some thing, even the smallest little crumb will fall to her.
My heart can’t take it. We were trying not to give her any more “people” food but I am going to have to give in this time.
Growing up I had an uncle that loved to travel and loved to ski. He once sent me a photo of him standing on a hill top with his ski gear in hand and huge smile on his face. The photo was taken in Europe. I dreamed about one day taking the same trip. It looked so beautiful and sounded like so much fun.

I came home from work the other day to find Roxy in Allison’s room playing dress up. Allison had a pretty prink blanket tucked under Roxy’s collar like a cape and was calling her a super hound. Roxy looked so proud, like at me mom, I am playing nice.
I am guessing her power is “super cuteness” !
I mean really, could she be any cuter? I think not.
I am so happy she is starting to really settle down and play with Allison. I was getting pretty worried there for a while that it was never going to happen. These days they are like two peas in a pod. On the couch, under the blankets and playing in her room. It’s awesome
Roxie and I got some goodies in the mail yesterday from our basset hound group. Wow, did they over do it this year.
Lots of yummy cookies and treats for Roxy and for the whole family. Some cranberry Yankee candles and pretty holiday votive holder, a stuffed basset with puppy, a very cool key chain, a pair really fun dog loving socks for me and beautifyl pink hoddie and scarf for Princess Roxy.

Not a fan of the cold snow Roxy and Allison have opted to hang out on the couch this morning and watch cartoons together.
I don’t think they have moved in over an hour. Of course I don’t think I would be any hurry if I were them either. The weatherman says we have a high od 23 degrees and there is 8 - 10 inches of snow coming by tomorrow evening.
I think Roxy is hoping for a repeat from Santa this year.
Roxy is in need of a bath. not just a bath but a serious scrub down. I’ll have to call the groomers and see if they can fit my girl in because last time I tried to do it myself it was a nightmare. First she didn’t want to get in the tub and forcing her is so not easy for me. She weighs over 55 pounds now. Then she kept trying to get out of the tub once I had her in. We were both soaking wet with in three minutes of this. Then of course after the bath there is the mad dog run around the house. I swear she makes sure she gets every room of the house as wet and covered in dog hair as possible. It’s almost like she has to beat her record of the time before, with each bath time getting harder and harder. What I would like to know is, who clued her in that bath time is not fun? When she was little she loved to get a bath at home. Those days are long gone.

I had to drag Roxy out of my bed this morning! The house had that wintery chill to it and the sun was still down. So I really can’t say I blame her for not wanting to get up. I sure would have much rather stayed in bed. But some one has to go to work to pay for all the food and bones we go through around here. So I had to be the mean doggie momma and pull her down the stairs and in to the kitchen to her own bed. Geesh, her life is hard!

After being such a good girl this year, Roxy is writing a letter and making a wish list for Santa. I’ll be taking her to PetSmart next weekend to visit him and to get her photo taken. I am sure she would fit some cookies on that list some where but bones and food would be her first choice I am pretty sure.
This evening during dinner my husband told Roxy to sit and stay. Then after a good half an hour or more, he turned around and she was still in the same spot. Still had her butt on the floor. It was unreal. I can’t believe my hound sat still while we ate dinner in the same room and waited to be released. Allison even walked by with a slice of garlic bread in her hands and all Roxy did was move her nose.She never got up or made a sound. I am impressed!

The rest of my afternoon has been spent with Roxy on my lap, in stead of my laptop. She has been kind of like my shadow ever since I woke up this morning. I can’t help but wonder if she some how knows it’s Friday and I am usually at work and she is usually home alone? or maybe she is just feeling a little needy? I guess either way she’s happy to have me around today. It’s pretty nice.

What a better way to spend Thanksgiving then watching a dog show? Roxy and I will be on the couch, under the blanket and cheering for our favorites to win this afternoon. Really, I can never pick a favorite, I just love them all.

Roxy has been such a good girl . My nephew is over this weekend and for the first time we haven’t had to use the baby gates, not once. Every other time he has been over we have had to keep Roxy separated from the kids because she was just too hyper and jumping on them. Last night when we walking in the door she couldn’t wait to lay down and show my nephew her belly for some rubs and she has spent a lot of her time just following them around. I am so proud of her.
Somebody’s mommy went shopping last night and somebody got a pretty new pink princess collar.
Not that this hound needs proof of her royalty that is for sure. If there is one thing she knows, it’s that she’s a princess.
Somebody’s mommy also brought her princess home two new bones filled with yummy centers, one peanut butter the other beef.
I can not believe it is just about the middle of November already.The holiday season is now just around the corner. Not that I am complaining. I love the holidays. All the fun starts with Halloween for me! The past few years we have had my sister and her family over, it’s always a good time when we are together. Allison and I have so much fun shopping for Halloween, the costumes, the candy and the decorations, all of which we bought at Target this year.
Now it’s just about time for Thanksgiving. One of my favorite days of the year because there is not much that I love more then a full house of family.Of course not many holidays can compare to the warm family feeling of Christmas which sure gets here fast once the season starts. I have already been thinking about what I will buy for everyone this year. My husband is the easy one, any thing for his truck makes him happy. Allison has been begging for an Apple Ipod for a long time. Of course now that I have a new granddaughter, I am so excited to shop toys again. Oh and I have so much fun buying toys and chews for Roxy, I can’t wait to stuff her stocking this year.
