I got this box of goodies from Every Body’s Nuts asking me to review their Pistachio products. My granddaughter was more then happy to get the googly eyed stuffed pistachio to play with, my daughter was happy to get her hands on the t shirt and hat and the funny little comics we found inside.
But lets talk about what the big prize we found inside of this fun box . The delicious Pistachios !!

Roasted & Salt, Roasted with No Salt, European Roast and Salt & Pepper.

OH my goodness !! We as a house hold have become addicted to snacking on them. Which is not a bad thing at all. Turns out they are not only delicious but also a guilt free snack. They are a great source of fiber and really heart healthy as well. That is what we needed around here!

When I got the package I opened each verity and set them on our kitchen counter for every one to enjoy. As the week went on, I started asking my family what they thought of each flavor. It’s funny how fast we each had our own favorites and opinions. My husband was quick to claim the Salt & Pepper box while we watched a movie one night. When I asked what he thought, he said they were pretty darn good. We both agreed they needed some shaking to get the pepper off of the bottom though. But the taste kick they had was awesome. Allison my nine year old daughter says her favorite by far is the traditional Roasted & Salted verity. Myself I am a now big fan of the European Roast and Roasted No Salt mixed together. I had no problems claiming the Roasted with No Salt around here. It was the least of my families favorite (other than myself).  We all agreed that Everybody’s Nuts was bar far the best Pistachios we have had. Large in size, fresh, roasted open with lots of flavor. That is saying a lot coming from this crew, who hardly ever agrees.

Knowing now of all the antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients that are packed in to these little tasty snacks I am sure to be bringing home more Everybodys Nuts in the future! They were a big hit in our house !

For the first time in along while I stayed pretty much off line over the weekend. Besides some talking with my Uncle Vito on Saturday.
We were so busy all weekend that the two days flew right by. We barbecued both Friday and Saturday. Rented movies Friday night with my husband.
Got up early and was out shopping with Allison and my mother in law on Saturday.

Then Saturday night we had some friends over and ended up talking and laughing until the early a.m. It was such a good time! Started out just four of us and by 10:30 four more friends popped in. Even Allison had a friend over.

Sunday I spend time with my mom, grandma and both girls. We all went to see Mama Mia and then shared some pizza. It’s not very often four generations of women get a chance to go out for the afternoon and all enjoy the same movie. Four thumbs up from us, I think that says a lot for the movie.

After receiving a few “I Love Your Blog” awards lately and feeling oh so loved about it I decided to start some thing new on my blog. I am going to try and post Friday Hugs every week, spreading a little love to the blogs I enjoy reading and the awesome bloggers behind them. Some who have become such great online friends and such a blessing to my life that I just want to say thank you.

My first hug goes out to Deana ! One of the most talented and definitely one of the nicest women I have met through blogging. I admire her greatly and can always count on her for a reason to smile.

Talk about smiles ! I love this chick! Also another talented and creative photographer. There has been a number of days her blog, emails or chit chat has helped me get through my work day with a smile. She is some one I wish I had living in my hood.

I can’t end my first Friday hugs with out big hugs going to Vito ! I don’t even know how to describe what a great friend this man has been to me. I think of him more as an uncle, like family I just never get to actually see. His comments and emails have meant so much to me. He is one blogger I really wish was closer. I could easily see our families spending time together.

Daily BS

I have plans Saturday night with friends this weekend, movie plans with my mom on Sunday and Allison has a big science project to work on. I also promised myself to have real progress done on removing our ugly dinning room wallpaper. I’d say, I am going to be one busy lady this weekend.

Allison and her clarinet

image

image

I can’t believe how good she is doing. The first couple of weeks were really hard, she was frustrated and it sounded like we were killing whales in our living room. This week, she is doing great ! We can tell what song she is playing and she passed her first test which earned her her a white tassel on her clarinet case. I am so proud that she stuck with it.

Couldn’t ask for a better day today. My headache is gone and I feel 100% better. I was up early and on the move around here. My house is clean, the beds are done with clean sheets and I have dinner in the slow cooker already starting to fill my house with that yummy pot roast scent. To top it off, my daughter and granddaughter are coming over any minute for a trip to the park. Gotta love days like this!

Daily BS

It’s a beautiful day outside and I am in the house with a bad headache, which always upsets my stomach and feeling bitchy and sorry for myself. Mother nature is also kicking my ass today. I am really not sure which of the two is worse . Feel sorry for me yet? You should because I am a sad sorry sight this afternoon.

I am just glad my daughter is out having a good time and not depending on me today. A girlfriend called and asked if she could tag along to lunch and then the cider mill with her and two daughters. She is even dropping her off at my mom’s for the night. What a blessing that turned out to be.

Daily BS

I was in line at Time Hurton’s over the weekend and standing behind me was a lady with three kids. The oldest looked about ten. She couldn’t have been much more then a year older the my daughter. She was thin, blond hair, in skin tight clothes and full of attitude. She also had on eye make up. Not play make up, real mascara and eye liner with a little blue shadow. When I turned around and saw her face it made me get that creepy feeling in my gut. Like she was on her way to some kiddie porn meeting or some thing. I can’t even imagine my daughter Allison wearing eye make up like that next year!
Now don’t get me wrong. I know my older daughter Bethany was wearing make up around twelve I think it was. I know it was way before I “aloud” her to because I can remember finding it in her room and throwing it away. At least I tried. I sure didn’t allow her to wear it. Am I over reacting? At what age do you think it is appropriate to wear real eye make up?
